Community

“Community is humanly satisfying because it engages so many sides and facets of us; it responds and nurtures what we sense to be our innate or potential wholeness.” – Daniel Kemmis

“The stakes are too high for government to be a spectator sport.” - Barbara Jordan

The Importance of Community Service

In addition to his professional pursuits, Dan is committed to making a difference through service to the community.  He describes it as “a natural fit that design professional should be among the leading voices in public dialogue on sustainable design, construction of public facilities, affordable housing, effective regional transportation solutions, and land use policies.” Even prior to becoming a father, Dan learned the importance of working to create an environment where young people can thrive. This led him to volunteering time in efforts to improve access to healthcare, childcare, youth mentoring, sustainability and workforce development.
